Meta information

it will be easy once you do the first 2-3, but don’t hesitate to ask me when you run into a problem. You can even call instead of texting, to be faster

Processing poem images

format: png
the images should be up to 1400px on the longer edge, with the other edge proportional (for example 1400x900 or 1200x1400)
Important : After resizing, put all images through compressor.io. It will make them 60-80% smaller without quality loss; even if they were already compressed in Photoshop.

Poems, Authors and Links (Webflow)

Go to Webflow Editor Mode and add all the information there
The fields you input data in have comments explaining how to use them
If you have a new poem with a new author, do this:

create the author first
create the poem and assign the author
edit the author you created and assign the new poem

you have to press publish for the changes to go live

Audio files

in Webflow Collections, note down the slug of the poem that you want to upload audio for
Open Cyberduck and double-click the lotti hirsch server to connect

if something doesn’t work, look in the zugang-ftp-lh file

drag-and-drop the audio files with correct naming

Important : the name of the audio file needs to exactly match the slug of the poem, plus .m4a

for example slug zukunft will grab the zukunft.m4a file

go to the poem’s page, verify that the player works and that it plays the correct file

Adding hero images

both desktop and mobile versions need to be uploaded, and then a variable needs to be changed in page code

names not visible

switched to 3 columns and adjusted all screens for it

unfortunately we’d have to hack the system a bit to change it, so leaving it for now
I made a post on their forums because I’m curious myself what they’ll say.

author names length:

if you use non-breakable spaces, they won’t move to another line. I also think I did it with normal spaces and it was fine, but just in case
when the names get longer, the section will expand. because of three columns, that becomes a bit wide and it can cross into the poems section
because of that, please keep them not longer than they are now (8-9 chars) and maybe use a letter for second name
when we add 15 more names we have to rethink a bit how it works, maybe add scrolling. So maybe then we’ll have two columns again and we can do longer names

Hero Images: I took the ones you added (transparent background, png) as samples and used the dimensions you used - is there a max. dimension/something I should consider when doing new Hero images (ideally, the fonts it would not be a .png but probably an .eps or .svg I guess because then no pixel problem)

Is there a character maximum for names? I had an issue with one name (originally ALPHA OUMAR) and it got displayed broken/squeezed together on the mobile version, so I changed it to a single name (which doesnt really make sense, because it works for OMAR ELMI and ALI HARJO…) The problem could be once names repeat and I need to add last names.
